Bouquet with Kahala Roses (Original Pastel Study)

$315.00

This beautiful bouquet of roses (and other stuff) came from my husband (and my favourite flower shop) on Valentines day. I photographed it in one of my favourite vases and experimented (super successfully!) with doing a pastel painting of it!

Bouquet with Kahala Roses
9 x 12 inches (minus a small border for framing)
Soft pastel on Pastelmat

A note on pastel paintings: pastels are very fragile as the pastels are made of pure pigment compressed into stick form with little to no binders added. For this reason, the paintings are very carefully packaged to ship by taping the paper in a foam core sandwich with a piece of glassine paper protecting the surface. Please keep the pastel packaged like this until you can have it framed and do not touch the surface. For framing, it is recommended to have a mat cut with a gap between the mat and the painting so that if extra pastel does get jostled off of the paper during transport or on the wall, it will fall into the gap and not on the mat. Pastel should be framed behind UV glass for optimal protection and colour fastness.
