Every year I go and ogle the irises and peonies at the Laking Garden, and this year (2023) I brought my full oil painting kit and umbrella through the garden and spent an hour dithering over which flowers to paint and where to set up without blocking other Iris enthusiasts. I finally settled in front of these gorgeous purple ones. People were so lovely and complimentary this day - the first time I have ever given out all my business cards! I love how bright this one feels - truly captures the feel of the Laking Garden in full bloom.
